This is the second advertisement found on ebay, The first listed a few days ago on this blog was from 1961, this one is from 1977, I am sure there must be many others out there with cigar box guitars…pretty neat!…but doesn’t say to much about Fender if they feel the need to use a cigar box guitar as a pin cushion, most people in business ‘call out’ thier rivals in their ads, Fender must be a little to insecure to place themselves next to Martin or Gibson, as those were the big names back then as they are today. They seem to prefer to stick around in the kiddie pool and slap around cbgs as they are an easy target, however just goes to show there was cigar box builders and possibly even a small movement of cigar box guitar makers even back then.
