Performed a three hour gig at the Burning Bridge Tavern in Wrightsville PA tonight.  Been there several other times.  I brought along my new Darren Brown 3-string cigar box guitar (white cbg above…  http://dbrowncustoms.blogspot.com) along with:

• Daddy Mojo 5 (also above)
• Daddy Mojo 4 string
• my new 3-string electric/acoustic (dual pickups…humbucker and piezo rod acoustic p’up)
• My grandfather’s 4 string banjo
• the Pat Cook “Mother Leeds” cigar box guitar.  (also using it for “Tattoo of You” and the +LIVE+ cover, “Horse” lately)

I planned on doing the first set entirely on the new 3-string, but I busted the low A string after only two songs.  The setup will definitely need tweaking before tomorrow’s gig.  It also didn’t have the full sound that I previously got at another gig.  Still need to work on the overall tone of the instrument.

Had a great crowd for the first set.  They were attentive, buying cds, getting into the storytelling.  After a short 15 minute break, I came back to a lesser crowd that could care less what was happening on stage.  I really need to massage the setlist and create two 90 minute sets instead of three 45 min sets.

The Dixieland banjo didn’t go over with this crowd.  Oh well…gotta try new things when playing to the same bar in a close period of time.

Two hour gig tomorrow at the Tourist Inn in Hellam PA.  This is known as the heavy metal/biker bar in the area.  They’ll have me out on their deck at 6pm.  The perfect audience and the perfect stage for me.  Looking forward to it.

I’ll try to start blogging more on here.  I was doing so much Facebook, but I’ll just connect this to my FB account and give this info to a wider audience.
